Raise the the dead - Uppgradering från 3.0.8 till 3.2.X

Ett forum jag modererat under ett par års tid dog under förra veckan till följd av providern lyfte PHP till 7.2, något som den gamla reliken inte alls gillade. Det hela resulterade i att jag befordrades från moderator till sysadmin, så här är jag.

Efter att ha gått tillbaka till PHP 5 igen verifierat att det var uppgraderingen på servernivå hos providern som orsakade felet påbörjade jag en uppgradering av phpbb från 3.0.8 till 3.2.2. stilen var satt till prosilver.

jag följde instruktionen i kunskapsbasen och laddade upp alla filer. Det var när jag sedan skulle uppdatera databasen som det blev dålig stämning. Db-uppdateringen small rejält (se bilaga) efter vilket det tog mig alldeles för lång tid att läsa tillbaka min backup, men nu är jag tillbaka på utgångsläget.

Har ni några tips på hur jag kommer vidare, eller vad jag kan ha gjort för fel?

Jag tror att det enklaste sättet att göra en sådan uppgradering (som är ganska långa steg) är genom att göra den lokalt.
Har du möjlighet att använda dig utav XAMP t.ex. och lägga in hela sidan lokalt och sedan göra uppgraderingen så har du också möjlighet att styra php-inställningarna för att försöka få det att fungera.

Jag har inte jobbat med XAMPP tidigare, men jag antar att jag kan ge det ett försök. Har du någon idé om varför Db-uppdateringen gick åt skogen? Min magkänsla säger mig att det är det steg som jag har svårast att påverka själv.

Jag tror bekymret är typen av databas i din config.php, du skulle kunna gå in i den filen och justera mysql till mysqli och se om det ger bättre effekt.

Instruktion

Jag tar bort i princip alla gamla filer för forumet (enligt instruktion), laddar upp de nya och går sen in i /install och trycker på update. Efter det smäller det.

Jag körde Support Toolkit och rensade databasen vilket gjorde att jag kom lite längre, men den smäller fortfarande när jag försöker uppdatera databasen

Jag lyckades uppgradera forumet från 3.0.8 till 3.0.14, och sedan från 3.0.14 till 3.1.12.
Nu blir det en whisky som belöning.
