Help nedded in Installing phpbb on the roxen server.

Hi all,

I am an international student (not proficient in swedish) in sweden. I tried posting my problem in the phbb main (international) site. But the problem is.. people out there never heard of Roxen webserver. could any one of u please help me out in installing phpbb on the roxen server.

The problem with roxen is that it will execute scripts in the cgi mode.


Roxen server runs all user scripts as CGI scripts which means that you have to have the following line on the first line of the script:

#!/usr/bin/php

i am getting the installation screen if i add #!/usr/bin/php in the first line and changing the extension to .cgi

Should i change all the php files in this fashion.

I am a newbie.. so please give me a detailed suggestion.

A step by step help would be very appreciated Very Happy .

This is a Swedish language support forum and if you were curious as to why, Roxen being Swedish server software (developed at the university where I study) has little to do with that.

As i have said i tried posting in the forums at http://www.phpbb.com/support for help regarding this. But the people over there never heard of Roxen server. i know that many people (at least her in linköping) use Roxen webserver and many people flock to this forum for help regarding this. so what better place can i go than here. i just wanted to know whether we can install phpbb on the roxen server and the rest of the details that i have mentioned in my first post.

It should be possible if you can compile and run PHP and MySQL on a server running Roxen. I suggest you get in touch with the Roxen development team.
